Your Violet Wand is an investment, providing the foundation of many years of play as you grow your violet wand kit and bags of tricks. So you want to keep it in the best shape possible by caring for your violet wand.

Don't let it get wet.

Turn it off with a footswitch, or power strip or unplug it when you're not using it.*

Don't try to do any servicing yourself.  Unlike a toaster, these aren't easily fixed even by electricians.  They require specialty knowledge so seek a qualifed repair person.  At least one wand company voids your warranty if you attempt any repairs or servicing yourself.

Don't drop it.  The exterior will crack and the impact disrupts the contacts and coils inside.

Keep the exterior looking nice with plastic polish.

If you're going to store your violetwand for months at a time, keep it in a zip bag with a packet of silicone gel.  This absorbs moisture in the air, preventing corrosion of internal components.

_{*A violet wand is always 'on' if you haven't unplugged it.  When turned down, the magnet contacts are turned too far apart to make noise or for the electrical current to jump across them through the wand.  Instead, when the magnets are too far apart for the electricity to continue across them, the electricity builds up into an electromagnetic field.  You don't want this, as it damages your magnetic resonator coil over time.}
