Its a small small world Print E-mail

A member of the Violet Wand Guild was asking about my connections to various other wand resources and entities and I mentioned it was indeed a small wand world that we operate in, and pretty much everyone knows, or knows of, everyone else..from the old timers at the forefront who have paid their dues, to the new kids on the block.  And when I was working up a post for today I realized that when playing with wands, we often deal with large areas, moving the mushroom over an arm, breast, belly or buttocks.

But what about the details, the smaller world of wand fetishivity?  There are ways to get down to the smallest areas of sensation.

Most often we see such small-area concentration in violet wand branding.  VW branding is not an exact science, its much more an art and dependent upon many variables for its success.  But one of the key elements is getting the wand charge concentrated enough to burn..whether that burn is light to create a temporary brand, or heavy enough to create a permanent one.  This is the effect behind the old violet ray cautery electrode which was used to burn off warts.  We don't want that; what we want to do is increase the effect, but not have the same consequences.

We can do the same, but there are tricks we can use to get the wand charge concentrated enough to target small pinpoint areas, and unlike violet wand branding, PLUS keep it from burning.

One popular tool for creating this effect is a neurological pinwheel.  This is why they are so often included in kits.  The pinwheels have a very tiny pinpoint where the wheel approaches the skin so there is your concentrated arc.  It also has the effect of dissipating much of the charge into the air from its points that are not in use as you roll it, which limits the charge you're working with, minimizing burns.  This makes it very handy for getting a pinpoint effect, and actually blowing off much of the wand charge out the other rays of the wheel.  If you crank the wand up in the dark and use a pinwheel, you can see this happening as a corona of rays stream off the pinwheel spikes.

What other ways can you pinpoint just a small, concentrated area?

Wand Guild Buzz Print E-mail

It's been an interesting short time with the re-opening of the wand guild's website.  There's a good bit of activity there with old members coming back and new ones joining.  It's to be expected that they experience some disorientation while they get back up and running to full speed, get their officers back on board, etc., and that's evident among the forum posts as people re-join and wonder what is going on and what is going to be happening.  Hopefully they'll get the kinks worked out and it will be an enriching experience and community again.

I'm still trying to track down more of what is happening in Seattle; the rumor mill still is firm that there is a high concentration of wand lovers out there and that they are growing.  If anyone has any input, drop me a line here or at the Guild.  Of course my reputation is on the line to find out, verify, and bring you the buzz.

When I was looking for a map of Seattle I found this widget and had to share it.

My most popular page on this site is basic Violet Wand Techniques.  That's not surprising, as most people don't know how to use one, and what they do know is merely a tip of the proverbial iceberg.

Techniques information is a lot harder to describe than it would be to show.     Especially in describing violet wand reverse and indirect techniques, its very hard to get a visual.  The Violet Wand Guild does a great service by providing techniques documents, but in today's day and age, visual has it all over everything else.  How much easier it would be to SEE it, than read it.

Now that the Wand Guild is fuctioning on the web again, I want to put forth a challenge to them:  get those cameras rolling and produce step by step instructionals!  I am sure it would go much farther in bringing more users and wand lovers into the fold.

As of today when I checked, the International Violet Wand Guild's new website has finally launched.  Looks like there are a few bugs of course, and still content to move.  Its been a long time coming, and so unfortunate the events that caused it.  But I wish them well and I'll see you there.  You may find me posting less here and more there at www.violetwands.org.

One thing I think I will do, is let the Guild manage the survey and reviews section that I've maintained here.  Info like that should be in a central resource.

Catch you at the Guild!

Rumor

A quiet rumor is circulating among some east coast venues this week about a new violet wand product, not on the market, that surfaced at an event recently.   All I can get so far is that it is intense, totally different, and this was a commercial testing rather than an unveiling.  My guess is that it the also-rumored Mjollnir    that was behind it.  I'll see if I can track more down and keep you posted.

The news from the West coast I hear, is that if you really want some electro-hopping play, try Seattle.  They are becoming advanced in their violet wand use and repertoire and turning out more than a few masters of the art.   The buzz is...that their clubs are starting to 'buzz!'   Way to go, Seattle!!

Aside from a violet wand, what are the accessories you can't do without?

I would amend that question slightly, and have it read 'Aside from the violet wand and electrodes, what are the accessories you can't do without?'  Primarily because you can't really do without violet wand electrodes, as all Direct techniques are based on them.  Without glass violet wand electrodes, you may as well just grab your wand by the cord and beat someone with it.  A violet wand without electrodes is like having a car without fuel, a computer without software, Anita Bryant without orange juice...you get the picture.

But in my opinion, there are two accessories that are must haves--- because with just having these two on hand, you increase your range and available techniques exponentially.  Take your time collecting other violet wand accessories if you like, but get these two as soon as you can, preferably at the same time you get your violetwand.  And as always, go for quality and durability of the manufacturer-made items, not the cheap knock offs.  It may not seem obvious why you don't want to obtain or use jury-rigged electrical components, after all they are less expensive.  Short version explanation:  safety.  This is high voltage electricity you're playing with, and a homemade component isn't adequate for safety.   For the in-depth reasons, I'll explain why.

The Throwdown

East Coast

The Contenders!

West Coast

Darkelectric

Dralion and Violetwanda

  Uncle Abdul
Rupert Huse

On the East Coast we have the inventive Darkelectric for the major violet wand player and Violetwanda and Dralion for the manufacturer.

Dark is president of the International Violet Wand Guild and his major strength is as a hands-on player.

Wanda and Dralion of Eclectic Electric sell direct, handblow their electrodes, and can produce special designs.

On the West Coast we have the scholarly Uncle Abdul as the major violet wand player and Rupert Huse for the manufacturer.

Unc' is the author of 'Juice, Electricity for Pleasure and Pain', and is more of an instructor than a hands-on player.

Huse of Huse and Son, Inc sells wholesale and produces the perpetually consistent Huse kit.

All parties have been existent in their endeavors for about the same amount of time. On the East Coast they appear to specialize more in their wands and on the West Coast they appear to be a bit broader in their pursuits. The West Coast is more consistent, while more new violetwand materials come out of the East.  You decide!

To the throwdown!
